I love to organize and make lists. Don’t ask me where it came from. One day I just realized it.
So, since it is a new year, that means that there are lists to create. One thing that I did today was write out a list of things that I want to pray for in 2013 and specifically for January. And, in my opinion, I think God is fun and likes to have fun (you can agree or disagree, but you probably aren’t having very much fun if you disagree). And God has put two verses on my heart over the past few months, both showing the Father’s heart for me.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” Matthew 7:7-11
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:31-32
Both of these verses are how He feels about us. If it’s in the bible it’s true. So that is what I believe.
In this list that I created I decided to write down specific things which I will not say – One, because they are personal, but more importantly, because I want to see God answer them without having told anyone else beforehand. I put some pretty crazy, out-there requests. So I’m going to have fun praying for these things. If you’re up for an adventure come and join me! And don’t just write them down. You gotta actually ask God for it – but write them down so you remember.
