I wasn’t even going to go out tonight. I was planning on sitting at home to play Fifa ’11. I’m so glad I didn’t stay home.
There was 8 of us that went to downtown Arlington Heights to go pray for people and share Jesus with them. I like it when something awesome happens and God shows up – but don’t really like it when it gets awkward and there aren’t noticeable changes. But I’m learning to be faithful in the small things right now.
Tonight was a really cool night. We saw a few people that we knew and hadn’t seen them in a long time.
Then my friend and I saw a group of about 10 high school/college guys standing around. We decided to go up to them and see if they wanted prayer for anything. At first they were turned off by it and were laughing, but my friend told them about Jesus and prophesied over 3 or 4 of them. It was pretty cool to see the look on their faces change after he started telling them what God thought about them.
And get this… I recognized one of these guys – but it took me a second to figure it out. He looked at me and recognized me too. Then it clicked. During the Jesus Culture conference in Chicago I went to the mall and chased him down cause he had a broken arm (and by chased down – I mean really nervously followed him for about 5 minutes & made myself pray for him). I prayed for him and his dad, and we got to talk for half an hour. Crazy that this is one of the guys we went to pray for tonight! His countenance totally changed after he recognized me, and I know that he knows that God is totally after him!
